Eating gluten free isn't about missing out
Once we get over the shock of what we can no longer indulge in, it's about finding all the amazing artisans who are creating gluten free products; often tasting better than the muggle version. And we think we are one of them!
Gluten free and full of flavour
Just because the gluten is out it doesn't mean it needs to taste like cardboard. Number one rule when moving to a gluten free lifestyle, don't compare things to the muggle version. Understanding the science behind gluten free baking has come a very long way in the last 15 years. Bread rolls that are better as a paperweight are a thing of the past. You can enjoy soft fluffy focaccia breads as a sandwich. Or a chewy bagel with your favourite toppings (mine was cream cheese, salmon, capers and lemon from my favourite pre GF cafe Yellow Rocket in Cathedral Square, Christchurch - also pre earthquakes!)
